The Candidate
Mary Kate Brown is a lifelong conservative who is proud to call Williamson County home. Her husband Josh is a Williamson County native, and their children are 5th generation Williamson County. They are committed to the conservative values that keep their community and state strong.
Mary Kate is running for the Republican State Executive Committee to protect those values — and to make sure the people of District 27 have a strong, engaged voice in the Tennessee Republican Party.
Her involvement in Republican politics didn't start with a campaign announcement — it started with showing up. For over 20 years, Mary Kate has been the person making calls, knocking on doors, stuffing envelopes, and doing whatever it takes to elect conservative leaders at the local and state level.
As the founder and administrator of one of Williamson County's largest parent community groups, she has built something real: a network of engaged, connected neighbors who trust her to listen and lead. That same energy and commitment is exactly what she will bring to the State Executive Committee.

Her Journey
Mary Kate began volunteering on local Williamson County campaigns, knocking on doors, making calls, and learning the fundamentals of grassroots organizing from the ground up — including being in downtown Nashville on election night 2000 as one of the most historic and contested presidential elections in American history unfolded.
Worked on a congressional race spanning 24 counties, gaining firsthand experience managing the complexity of large-scale Republican campaigns across a wide geographic area.
Expanded her work to state-level and presidential Republican campaigns. In 2012, Mary Kate was one of only three women selected to serve on the official Credentials Committee at the Republican National Convention in Tampa — arriving a week early to serve alongside John Ryder, the prominent Memphis attorney, longtime RNC general counsel, and one of the most respected Republican strategists in the country, all while a hurricane threatened the Gulf Coast. She was the only Tennessean on the Credentials Committee, with fellow Tennessean Marsha Blackburn serving on the Platform Committee. She also attended the RNC in St. Paul (2008) and Cleveland (2016), building deep relationships across the party at every level.
Founded one of Williamson County's largest parent and community groups during COVID, growing to over 7,000 members. The group organized opposition to COVID school metrics, discovered a flaw in the Tennessee Department of Health's data that overstated active cases by over 50%, fought for children's rights to outdoor activity, advocated for quarantined students to participate in graduation ceremonies, and kept thousands of parents informed through live school board coverage and FOIA requests. A testament to what grassroots organizing can accomplish.
Drawing on two decades of service, Mary Kate is running for Tennessee Republican State Executive Committeewoman to bring a grassroots voice to the party's leadership in District 27.
